Girls’ Voices for Change is a global media contest that asks young women (aged 13 to 20) to share their vision for a more empowered future for girls and women everywhere.
Girls globally face unique obstacles - from being denied an education, to discrimination, to physical endangerment, to feeling safe to express themselves. We ask girls to share these barriers, their stories of triumph, their creativity, and their ideas for change with us.
Our panel of judges, along with the public, will vote to choose the winners, who will receive funding to help them further their education and implement their ideas in their communities. No girl gets left behind - each participant will also receive scholarship funding to help her go to school.
- All submissions must be from participants of the Girls’ Voices program. To learn more contact: email@example.com.
- Media includes video (no longer than 4 minutes) and digital photography.
- The deadline for media submissions is August 22, 11:59 AM PT, Pacific Time.
My Story: Create a video about your life -- your triumphs, your questions, your obstacles and dreams. The winners will receive a $1500 scholarship to pursue education or training.
Changemaker: Create a video that demonstrates the change you would like to see in your community to make the world a better place for girls. What obstacle stands in the way of the future you want to see? We want to see your ideas for changing the world for the better. The winners will receive $1500 grant funding and mentorship to implement their community project.
Style and Culture: Create a video that shows how your local art, style, crafts, and/or fashion brings your culture to life. Let’s celebrate unique creativity, design, and expression through your stories. Winners will receive $1500 for a scholarship or a community arts project.
Photography: Create a series of photographs that shares how you see the world, what inspires you, what makes your community unique, and/or what inspires girls’ empowerment. The winners will receive $1000 grant funding to pursue education or training.
